I really hate networking issues.  I like to think that I already know quite a lot about computers.  And when trouble strikes, I usually feel pretty confident when it comes to troubleshooting problems, especially software ones.  I have a fairly good idea regarding some of the basic troubleshooting steps for many problems, and if I’m confronted by something unfamiliar, I just go on line and conduct research via a search engine.Unfortunately, networking problems are one particular area where I tend to give up after a bit of time.  There’s a lot of online advice available thankfully, but almost every time I face a networking issue, I can’t seem to fix the problem, even with all that knowledge available on line.  It really drives me nuts.  Sometimes I come across a pretty good looking solution.  I follow the process, step by step.  I make sure not to miss anything.  And yet the darn connectivity issue remains.  It makes me want to tear my hair out sometimes.I really feel that this is one area where I simply need to look for expert help.  I’m man enough to admit that I’m not all that good at network troubleshooting, so I’m perfectly willing to call in reinforcements.  I don’t know what it is about this particular area which gives me so much grief.  Perhaps I’m just not as familiar with it.  And the details here are pretty foreign to me.  Whatever the cause, I’ve reached the point where at first sight of a networking problem, I just want to turn tail and run immediately.  I don’t know if I’ll ever get to the point where I can manage these.  I hope so, but I rather doubt it.
