Used at trade shows and conventions, trade show displays are an excellent marketing tool to promote a company’s product and/or service. They typically consist of backdrops, banners and other promotional items that bear the company’s logo or motto. Displays, while ranging in costs and sizes, all serve the same purpose, to visually portray a particular product or service.

There are numerous reasons why a company would choose to set up a display at a trade show. The most obvious reason being to generate sales. Trade show displays are a great marketing tool, giving the opportunity to be face to face with potential clients. The launching of a new product is another top reason for companies to set up a display, whether they are a new company just starting out or a well established company with a new line of products to launch. Some companies use them simply to create a lasting impression on new contacts.

The benefits of utilizing trade show displays  vary and can depend on the reason for participating in a trade show event. One of the most notable benefits are that they are a great cost effective marketing medium. Rental of display space is relatively inexpensive, which allows even the smallest of businesses to participate and compete with larger companies.  Immediate feedback is another benefit of trade show displays. Depending on the product or service being presented, the displays give potential clients the ability  to see the product or service up close. This is not only an obvious benefit to the potential client but it also benefits the company by allowing the company to hear and to see first hand reactions from prospective clients about the product or service being offered, giving immediate feedback.

Once a company has decided to use trade show displays as a form of marketing and advertising for their product or service, they will need to make a couple of decisions. First deciding whether they will purchase the display or simply rent one. A decision can be made by determining how often the company will be participating in trade shows or conventions.  The second decision to be made will be deciding what type of display will best suit their needs. With a variety of options available, the most common choices include but are not limited to, tabletop displays, pop-up displays and panel displays.
