I am a small business owner. Until one year ago (February 2009), almost to the week, I could not build my own blog or blog.I set out to start a marketing campaign on the web. Am I ever glad I did.I first had to learn how to create a web site. I had paid for 2 internet websites, but they were a disappointment because I had no traffic. I figured if I learned how to build my own site and do the website optimization, then I could take control of my website marketing. I was right.Little did I realize that there are so many options for building your own internet websites. I hunkered down and built several “practice websites” to see what was best for me. In the end I chose WordPress.My top twelve reasons business owners should learn and use WordPress for their business web sites.1. Ask yourself why do you want to build your own internet websites. I knew the net was the future for business so I figured it was so critical I better learn building up my business on the the web.2. Save money by not having to pay for every new website. I realized a good online advertising and marketing campaign included numerous internet websites. If I could build one web site, I could build many. The same with SEO costs; I didn’t want to pay thousands every month. So I learned to do it myself.3. After researching how some business owners did so well going on-line, I understand that I too could enjoy huge growth going internet in a big way. I was right; I’m growing big time as a result of my aggressive internet marketing campaign.4. Why WordPress specifically? To start, the price is right. It is free. Just get hosting for under nine dollars/mo. and you are in business.5. Speed. It’s hard to find a site platform that will get web page up as fast as WordPress. Moreover, adding content is snap. Small and big websites take no time at all to put up once you know what you are doing.6. WordPress is open-source; many people contribute each and every one kinds of cool functions and designs to it – much of it free. It’s an ever-evolving platform that is developing exponentially. Arguably, the WP community is driving internet site design.7. Unlimited functionality. For nearly any need, an enterprising developer has created a plugin that solves that need. Most plugins are free; and if not free, relatively inexpensive.8. WP is easy-to-use. The WP dashboard and most themes are pretty intuitive to use. You don’t need to be a computer programmer at every. For greatest ease and the nicest looking web site, there are lots of paid themes available – ranging in price from ten dollars to over one hundred dollars. I use premium themes exclusively now because they are well-coded and in my view, look the nicest. I also love the many very easy customization options available with premium themes.
