Now that the Olympics have concluded, it’s time for college basketball to dominate the television networks, newspaper sports pages and sports radio talk shows.  March madness is in full swing and college basketball enthusiasts are enjoying the continuous coverage.  Along with the yearly occurrence of squeaky rubber soles on hardwood floors and noise levels that require ear plugs are the college coaches that seem like they’ve been court side since I was a child.  They must have been children themselves when they first began coaching.

Many say they are paid very well, why would they go anywhere else?  To their credit you have to admit, it’s in their blood.  College basketball is their passion or they wouldn’t continue to do it year after year. That’s probably why you tend to see the same teams at the top every year.

I’ve found that passion and commitment in coaching is seen in other venues also. Recently, I was helping a friend who happens to be a chiropractor, with his decision about a decompression marketing system for his office. I mentioned to him that using a marketing program like the one he was researching, was similar to these college basketball coaches. Like them, this system offered tools to help improve and generate interest and a following, which would intern lead to new patients. That earned it 2 points, then it also offered one to one coaching, that was another 2 point score and because it was specific to decompression, it was perfect for his needs.

We dug a little deeper into this decompression marketing research and found that one program even offered monthly online workshops.  That’s just like a basketball coach holding a team meeting to going over a player’s performance and evaluations.  Another 2 point score.  But the slam dunk came with the decompression marketing program that guaranteed area exclusivity.  Wow, that really sealed the deal for my friend.
